Shelly Miller was born in Owensboro, KY. She graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication and is a certified Master Gardener. After college, she worked as a press aide for a United States Senator in Washington, D.C. before marrying her husband and settling in Madison, Alabama.
Together, she and her husband raised three girls in the South. She taught aerobics and pregnancy exercise classes throughout the community and even completed a half-marathon. Yes, you read it correctly, “half.” She considers that to be good enough. She then homeschooled her children and exercised her writing muscles by grading stacks of research papers. She was fired from that job when her children went to public school.
Nowadays, Shelly finds her muse in the garden. Her ideal day is spent writing in the garden. Careful, because if you ask her what she does all day, she will say “nothing,” unless she is chasing after her three cats. Shelly is the Indie Award Winning Author of Tornado Valley: Huntsville’s Havoc, and author of Whispered Secrets of the South: Montevallo, Alabama, first in her new book series.
